NJ/DE Bay Region Fishing Forecast – July 31, 2025

Kick off the month August with the return of the one-fish bag limit on tautog at the Jersey Shore.  Designed especially for spearfishermen, this one-blackfish allowance as of Friday, August 1 offers jetty jocks another great option this month, and a reason for back bay anglers to apply those sheepshead tactics throughout the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region.  We’ll take a deep dive into the August edition of The Fisherman before jumping into the latest fluke reports for another tournament weekend.   Inshore and offshore marine weather forecasts, reports from the midrange tuna grounds with jumbo cobia, your weekly freshwater report from the Pocono Outdoors Guy, plus striped bass and bunker in the news this week, and check out the 4-1/2-minute video segment about the bunker reduction industry, produced to attract the president’s attention and apparently hitting its intended mark; but will it now potentially lead to a federal showdown over the most important fish in the sea?
