Believe it or not, the MidAtlantic Tournament based out of Ocean City, MD and Cape May, NJ had a total of 109 boats fishing Monday, none on Tuesday, but 73 boats ventured out on Wednesday and another 40 are listed as fishing today on August 21, 2025. Certainly all eyes are on Hurricane Erin tracking well offshore of the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region and headed in a northeasterly direction, and while big winds and heavy seas will have the majority of anglers wisely staying ashore for the next few days, there are plenty of anglers willing to adapt and improvise. We’ll look at back bay and freshwater options in this week’s video fishing forecast from South Jersey, plus we’ll scan midweek sea surface charts from the Rutgers “Cool Room” to venture a guess as to what happens after Erin blows by. The good news is that she’s blowing through fast with winds turning SW Friday night and seas progressively falling through the weekend.
