Long Island Video Fishing Forecast – April 9, 2026

The early season is starting to take shape across Long Island, with striped bass reports slowly building from the North Shore and western harbors, including schoolies in Hempstead Harbor and herring showing at Magnolia Pier. Offshore, Canyon Runner checks in with a bluefin update, while local wreck trips are producing solid action on ling, and mixed bottom fish with excellent weather lining up for the weekend. Freshwater anglers are also getting in on the action with yellow perch biting well on local lakes. Plus, don’t miss this weekend’s Marine Mate tent sale in Lindenhurst and upcoming Belmont Lake Spring Fishing Festival as the season continues to ramp up.
